Stornoway Gazette – ULLAPOOL Book Festival launches its 2010 programme next week with a guest appearance by South Uist writer, Angus Peter Campbell.
He will speaking on the subject of ‘Joie-de-vivre cànan’ – ‘The Joie-de vivre of language’ and exploring the use of language and giving multi-lingual readings.

BBC – Organisers of a two-day charity concert have said their security contractors will deter music fans from wandering onto sensitive wildlife habitats. Rock4Life in May at Whiteness, near Ardersier, will be headlined by Status Quo, the Sugababes and McFly. It will raise money for the Highland Hospice.

Highland News – SUNDAY’S Ironworks gig by veteran Scottish punk band The Skids has been cancelled. The reason for the cancellation is given as “an unavoidable and unforeseen clash of schedules”, and on their website, the band apologises to fans who have already bought tickets.
